Getting to Zante from Italy: flights, ferries and your arrival day

Fly into Zakynthos airport or cross by ferry from Kyllini: the routes on the official sites, and how to reach Laganas or Argassi on day one.

Ferries moored in the harbour of Zante Town

Zakynthos, the island Italians call Zante, lies in the southern Ionian Sea, about 28 km across the water from Kyllini on the coast of the Peloponnese. From Italy there are two ways in: fly to the island's own airport, or cross the Adriatic to mainland Greece and take the ferry from Kyllini. Here is what the official airport, port and bus websites say, and how to get from your arrival point to Laganas or Argassi in time for the first party.

By air: Zakynthos airport (ZTH)

The island's airport is Zakynthos Airport 'Dionysios Solomos', code ZTH, a few kilometres from the party resorts and run by Fraport Greece. In October 2026 its official destinations map listed these Italian airports: Bari, Milan Bergamo, Milan Malpensa, Naples, Palermo, Rome Fiumicino, Salerno, Venice and Verona.

Airlines set their routes and days season by season, so check the airport's flights page and the airline's own website for your 2027 dates. If there is no direct option from your city, Greece's official tourism site lists a one-hour flight from Athens International Airport to Zakynthos.

Landing: from the airport to Laganas or Argassi

Taxis wait at the rank in front of the terminal building. The bus stop is just outside the arrivals area, and the bus links the airport with Zakynthos Town. The island's bus company, KTEL Zakynthos, posts that timetable on its website, and from town its local lines carry on to Laganas and to Argassi.

By road, the airport is close to both party areas: about 7 km to the Laganas strip and about 4.5 km to Gatsby and Club Barrage in Argassi.

By sea: the ferry from Kyllini

Kyllini, on the Peloponnese coast, is the island's ferry gateway. The port's official website describes it as the link between the mainland and Zakynthos and Kefalonia, with thousands of passengers sailing from it every day.

Ferries arrive at the port of Zakynthos Town, right in the centre, about 1.3 km on foot from the KTEL bus station. Crossing times and timetables change with the season: check them with the ferry company before you travel.

From Italy by ferry: Patras first

If you would rather sail from Italy, the Adriatic ferries land on the Greek mainland. Superfast Ferries' official page for Patras lists the port on its Ancona, Bari and Venice lines.

From Patras, KTEL Zakynthos runs an intercity bus to the island; its page notes that the bus fare does not include the sea crossing. The same company also runs buses between Athens and Zakynthos. Travelling with a car, you drive on to Kyllini and board the ferry there.

Your arrival day: be on the sand by five

Plan the first night around your arrival time. In 2026 the beach and pool parties on this site started from 17:00: the Tuesday beach party at Infinity Beach Club at 17:00, Champagne Spray Italiano at Pure Zante on four Saturdays at 17:30 and the Thursday Paradiso Sunset Party at El Paradiso Beach Club at 18:00. The club nights with a published start time opened later, from 23:00. A morning or early-afternoon arrival leaves time to check in, shower and walk to the beach.

Arriving on a Wednesday? In 2026 the Mamma Mia! boat left from the port of Laganas in the afternoon: check its boarding time on the ticket page before you book your flight.

Choose where you land your bags

Laganas keeps the strip and the beach clubs within walking distance; Argassi keeps you next to Gatsby and Club Barrage, on the road out of Zakynthos Town. Pick the base that matches the nights you want most, and the rest of the week is a short ride away.
